The 'My Profile' Smartlet allows site visitors to create an explicit profile for the site. It shows a form that can be used to edit personal preferences and create a subscription for a personalized RSS feed and/or an email newsletter.

Parameters

The table below gives an overview of the available parameters for the QuickSearch Smartlet.

action string form

The action the Smartlet should take. Possible values are:

  • form (profile form)
  • image (avatar)
  • rss (show feed)
  • send (send all current newsletters to visitors with tag subscriptions)
  • testsend (same, but will only test what to send)
  • newsletter (shows the current newsletter of the logged on user)
max integer 50 The maximum number of items to show in one newsletter.
Thesaurus string KWD

The code of the thesaurus to use for the subscription tags.
By default, the standard 'Keywords' (KWD) thesaurus is used.

Tag Subscription & Newsletter

By selecting a number of tags, the visitor subscribes to all added content having the given tags. This is reflected immediately in the RSS feed provided in the Smartlet, and a scheduled action using the SignalSmartsite command line utility will trigger the newsletters to be sent periodically. For this, an item calling the smartlet with action="send" is used.

The Xml needed to create the email sending task is included in the configuration/setup folder.

Notes

Smartsite iXperion Personalization currently does not support Outscaling scenarios with multiple databases.
